Ann Adams and Liz Brensinger have 30+ years experience identifying and meeting needs in their communities. A case in point, Green Heron Tools grew directly from their 11 years as market growers, reinforced by conversations with other women farmers in search of tools and equipment that fit their bodies and their needs.

Green Heron Farms, Ann & Liz’s organic vegetable and herb business, expanded from a personal passion to a small-scale commercial enterprise at the urging of Ann’s son, a gourmet farm-to-table chef who needed a good local source of unusual varieties of produce. They now specialize in heirloom varieties from around the world, which have been very popular at local farmers’ markets.

Earlier in their careers, Ann and Liz formed Red Road Enterprises (www.redroadenterprises.com) – a consulting business to meet regional nonprofit organizations’ needs for grant money, organizational support, creatively designed programs and other services. They’ve also taught at the university level; managed agencies, newsrooms and programs; and, in Ann’s case, provided holistic counseling services.

As with all of their ventures, Green Heron Tools is rooted in principles of honesty, hard work, high quality, sustainability, and the highest ethical standards.
